One morning Josefina was writing to her pen pal, Nanea, outside when Maryellen started running towards her.
“Josefina! Josefina! Where have you been?” asked Maryellen out of breath. “I've been looking for you and you’ve been here writing?"
"No, not just writing. I am writing to my pen pal,” answered Josefina.
“How about we go walk our pets, Scooter and Sombrita, at the park so they can stretch their legs out after being cooped up most of winter?” suggested Maryellen.
“Ok, I guess so,” said Josefina.
So, they went inside, grabbed their pets, and went to the park. They played on the playground, tossed a frisbee back and forth, and then they took the pets on a walk.
Along the way the dolls decided to put on roller skates and blades.
Then suddenly, Sombrita broke loose, and Josefina fell and tripped Maryellen who fell on her arm.
When the dolls got back on their feet Maryellen found out she had a broken arm and she cried and could not even look at it.
“Are you okay Maryellen” Josefina asked.
Maryellen pointed to her arm.
“You’ve got a broken arm?”
Josefina bandaged the arm and said we’d better get home so you can rest your arm. Maryellen was lucky to have a curandera (doctor) with her during her accident.
The rest of the day they watched Just Add Magic. Fortunately, when dolls break their arms, the healing only takes a few days.
