Thanksgiving with the dolls is never boring. There are often misunderstandings between the dolls. Maybe it's because of the different time periods between them, or maybe they're not really good listeners. We may never know. 2 weeks ago they started planning and it went like this:
"Guys, we need to plan Thanksgiving. It's in a couple days," Maryellen anxiously stated.
"I'll make the pies!" Shouted Josefina. She always loved baking. Maybe it was because she was the one with the oven. "Pumpkin, pecan, coconut creme, key lime, chocolate, sweet potato, blueberry, che-"
Samantha cut her off, "Uh, we need other food. I'll do some sides. Who wants to get a turkey? Kirsten?"
Kirsten wasn't sure what bringing a turkey had to do with Thanksgiving dinner but she loved taking walks in the woods and thought she could find a turkey pretty easily. "Sure," she said. "I know I've met some in the woods before."
Samantha replied, "Well, that sums it up. Maryellen, maybe you could decorate and get plates, napkins and such."
That dolls had a hard time trusting Maryellen in the kitchen since an unfortunate incident with burned brownies.
Later that day Kirsten went out looking for a turkey. To her surprise it didn't take long and she started talking to the turkey and asked if he would like to have Thanksgiving with her and the dolls. The turkey looked at her and gobbled along after her. She was happy to bring one back and thought Samantha would be so proud of her.
When she got back she presented the dolls with her new friend.
"Wow, Kirsten," Josefina exclaimed, "you got the freshest turkey around. How are you going to cook him?"
Shocked Kirsten responded, "Oh! No! You all said to bring a turkey. Not kill him. How could you?!"
The dolls stood around awkwardly looking at each other. The turkey gobbled softly and the dolls together went "Aww."
The next day was Thanksgiving. Lots of pie was enjoyed after a few sides of food. No doll went hungry.
Maryellen sighed, "Best Thanksgiving ever."
Everydoll agreed. Can't wait for Christmas.

You can never have too many pies.
